Full Planning Approval on Saxton Lane, Leeds

Den Architecture has received full planning approval for a large residential scheme on Saxton Lane, Leeds!

The scheme comprises of 349 units, and brings the area a much needed boost in high quality residential units.

The proposals are designed to integrate the site within the surrounding area with a new south-north pedestrian route running through the core of the site. This will be accessible to all and will ‘knit’ the development into the existing urban grain, thereby creating a more pleasant, walkable and safer neighbourhood.

The development is in line with Leeds City Councils aspiration to ‘grow significantly, providing a range of housing choices to meet market demand and local housing’.

Throughout the initial conception, evolution and development process, there has been continuous dialogue with the LPA through a series of workshops, informal meetings and formal pre-applications culminating in public consultations and finally a Pre-Application Panel presentation to members, all of which have been positively received .

The resulting scheme sits comfortably within it’s context, replacing the existing, industrial scale buildings with high quality city centre residential units. The new public realm will include new planting and landscaping and will open up the area and bring life and activity to the site.
