A Landmark Renewed: Inside the Newly Opened Jubilee Hotel on The Headrow in Leeds
We are excited to share our first look inside the newly opened Jubilee Hotel on The Headrow - a sensitive restoration and contemporary extension of a Grade II listed Leeds landmark, delivered for Supercity Hotels.
Originally built in 1904 and once described as Leeds’ last remaining “Gin Palace”, the building sits directly opposite Leeds Town Hall in one of the city’s most prominent locations. Our brief was to respect the historic fabric while bringing the property into modern use as a 43-room apart-hotel.
From pre-planning through to delivery, with planning approval secured in 2021, our approach focused on retaining character-defining elements and complementing them with a crisp, new extension. Inside, re-planned layouts, high-quality finishes and generous glazing create light-filled rooms that balance heritage with contemporary comfort.
The result is a building that feels both familiar and new: the craft and detail of the original architecture, paired with modern amenity and a considered street presence on The Headrow. It’s been a complex piece of city-centre work and a rewarding one to see through to completion.
