Den Architecture expanding its presence in the Humber Region

As our practice continues to grow, we are proud to be expanding our presence in Hull and the surrounding area. This is already reflected in a number of recent projects that demonstrate our focus on community, care and long-term value for our clients.

Established in 1989, we have over 35 years of experience creating places that put people first. From our early roots in social housing through to complex mixed-use developments and specialist care environments, our work is driven by a commitment to thoughtful, responsible design.

Lavender Fields Care Home, Barmby Moor – Designing for Community and Care

Located just outside Hull in Barmby Moor, Lavender Fields is a purpose-built care development that includes a 72-bedroom care home, 24 assisted living bungalows and an administrative centre.

This project brings together residential comfort and access to care in one setting. The design allows residents to retain a sense of independence while staying connected to the wider community. Amenities such as a café, a pub and generous outdoor spaces have all played a role in helping create a place that feels active, social and inclusive.

Falkland Road and Netherhall, Hull – Supporting Independent Living

Our projects at Falkland Road and Netherhall provide supported accommodation for some of the most vulnerable people in society. Now approaching completion, both schemes have been designed to promote, independence and safety through high-quality, well-considered design.

At Netherhall, new accommodation sits within the grounds of a locally listed building and former stables. The development respects the character of the original site while delivering much-needed modern housing in a sensitive and respectful way.

These projects are examples of how architecture can contribute meaningfully to people’s lives, offering more than just a place to live.

Pocklington VMU and Headquarters – A Practical, Purpose-Built Facility

In Pocklington, we recently completed a new Vehicle Maintenance Unit and Headquarters for a local business. This practical and efficient scheme combines workshop space with modern office accommodation, supporting the day-to-day operations of a growing team. The design balances functionality and longevity, helping to support future growth without compromising on usability or build quality.

Allam Digestive Centre – A Specialist Medical Facility

We were pleased to be involved in the Allam Digestive Centre, a state of the art medical facility specialising in digestive care

We worked from Stage 4 onwards, helping with design and delivery on site following the original design by Alessandro Caruso Architects.

Looking Ahead

At Den, we believe that good architecture should always serve the people who use it. Whether through inclusive housing, care environments or community-focused developments, our work is rooted in improving places through design.

Our recent experience in and around Hull has shown the value of working closely with local authorities, housing & healthcare providers and delivery teams. We look forward to continuing this work and forming new partnerships that can help shape positive development in Hull.
